SIT DOWN is a cultural and diplomatic campaign marking the
80th anniversary of the end of World War II and the founding of the United Nations.
In a time of rising global tensions, we are bringing art and diplomacy together to create
space for dialogue, trust, and collaboration across generations.
About the project
SIT DOWN is an international cultural initiative that offers
young people a platform to express their opinions, aspirations, and demands for the future through art.
The Peace Child Musical is at the heart of this initiative – a powerful artistic expression that uses
music and theatre to reflect young people’s vision of a peaceful and sustainable world, which will be
prepared during
THE PEACE CHILD WEEK IN SLOVENIA.
Our initiative is inspired by the
Declaration on Future Generations, a vital document that demands the voices of young people to be heard, calling for responsible global
leadership. Young people are not just asking for change; they want world leaders take action in alignment
with this declaration.
The project is taking place on the occasion of the
80th anniversary of the Second World War and the founding of the United Nations, under
the
honorary patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the
Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon.
Sit down with us
After a
SUCCESSFUL PREMIERE AT THE LJUBLJANA FESTIVAL, THE PEACE CHILD MUSICAL
is now heading to the WIENER KONZERTHAUS. The ten-day
creative process brought together 210 young artists from 22 nationalities including
participants from Palestine, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On the Vienna stage, the orchestra, choir and narrators will perform under the artistic direction of
conductor Živa Ploj Peršuh, presenting to the audience a powerful message of
solidarity, hope, and responsibility. The SIT DOWN initiative stands at the
crossroads of culture, economy and diplomacy – three forces that young people believe
must act together to build a better & peaceful future.
